Terms & Conditions for LockSnap

1. Acceptance of Terms

Welcome to LockSnap, operated by ISTEPS UK LTD ("we," "our," or "us"). These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the LockSnap mobile application ("App") and related services. By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the App and should uninstall it immediately.

2. Description of Service

LockSnap is a security monitoring application for Android devices that:

• Automatically captures photos when unauthorized unlock attempts are detected
• Monitors device security events using Android's Device Administrator API
• Provides a foreground service that runs continuously to detect security events
• Offers premium subscription features for enhanced functionality
• Stores captured photos and security logs locally on your device

3. Eligibility

3.1 Age Requirements

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under 18, you represent that you have obtained parental or guardian consent to use the App.

3.2 Device Requirements

The App requires Android 10 (API level 29) or higher, a device with a camera, and certain system permissions to function (see Section 4).

3.3 Account Requirements

The App does not require user registration or account creation. No personal account information is collected or stored.

4. Required Permissions and System Access

4.1 Device Administrator

The App requires Device Administrator privileges to function. By using the App, you grant the App Device Administrator access, which allows it to monitor device unlock events, detect failed authentication attempts, and monitor device security state changes.

Important: Device Administrator access is required for core functionality. If you revoke this access, the App's security monitoring features will not work.

4.2 Required Permissions

• Camera: To capture security photos
• Foreground Service: To run the security monitoring service continuously
• Boot Receiver: To automatically restart the service after device reboot
• Battery Optimization Exemption: To prevent the system from stopping the service
• Notifications: To display security alerts (Android 13+)

4.3 Optional Permissions

• Location: For location tagging of photos (if enabled)
• SMS: For "Find Device" feature (if enabled)
• Phone: For "Call Me Back" mode (if enabled)
• Biometric: For biometric authentication to protect app access

5. Acceptable Use

5.1 Permitted Uses

Personal security monitoring of your own device, protecting your device from unauthorized access, or monitoring security events on devices you own or have explicit permission to monitor.

5.2 Prohibited Uses

• Monitor Devices Without Consent: Use the App to monitor devices you do not own or have explicit permission to monitor.
• Illegal Activities: Use the App for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws.
• Privacy Violations: Use the App to violate the privacy rights of others.
• Reverse Engineering: Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
• Tampering: Modify, adapt, or create derivative works of the App.
• Interference: Interfere with or disrupt the App's functionality.
• Unauthorized Access: Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the App.
• Data Mining: Use automated systems to extract data from the App.
• Commercial Use: Use the App for commercial purposes without our written permission.

5.3 Legal Compliance

You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the App complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and third-party rights in your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, surveillance laws).

6. Premium Subscriptions

6.1 Subscription Plans

The App offers premium subscription plans (monthly and yearly). Details are displayed in the App.

6.2 Payment and Billing

All payments are processed through Google Play Billing. ISTEPS UK LTD does not process or store your payment information. Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled.

6.3 Cancellation

You can cancel your subscription at any time through Google Play Store settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

6.4 Subscription Changes

ISTEPS UK LTD reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue premium features at any time with reasonable notice when possible.

7. Intellectual Property Rights

7.1 Our Rights

The App, including all content and technology, is owned by ISTEPS UK LTD. You do not acquire any ownership rights by using the App.

7.2 Your Content

Photos and data captured by the App are your property. We do not claim ownership of your photos or data.

7.3 License to Use

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license for personal, non-commercial use.

8. Disclaimers and Limitations of Liability

8.1 Service Availability

The App is provided "as is" and "as available." ISTEPS UK LTD reserves the right to modify or discontinue the App at any time.

8.2 No Warranty

THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED.

8.3 Security Monitoring Disclaimer

The App is a security monitoring tool and is not a guarantee of device security. We do not guarantee it will detect all events or prevent unauthorized access.

8.4 Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, ISTEPS UK LTD SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.

8.5 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ISTEPS UK LTD from claims arising out of your use of the App or violation of these Terms.

9. Privacy

Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

10. Third-Party Services

10.1 Google Play Services

The App uses Google Play Services. Your use of these services is subject to Google's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

10.2 Third-Party Links

The App may contain links to third-party services. ISTEPS UK LTD is not responsible for their content or practices.

11. Updates and Modifications

ISTEPS UK LTD may release updates that are mandatory for continued use.

11.2 Terms Updates

ISTEPS UK LTD may modify these Terms at any time. Your continued use constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

12. Termination

12.1 Termination by You

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it and cancelling subscriptions.

12.2 Termination by Us

ISTEPS UK LTD may terminate your access for violations or technical reasons.

12.3 Effect of Termination

Upon termination, your license ceases and you must uninstall the App.

13. Dispute Resolution

13.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

13.2 Dispute Resolution Process

Disputes may be resolved through mediation or arbitration in accordance with UK law.

13.3 Exceptions

Disputes related to IP rights or seeking injunctive relief are not subject to arbitration.

14. General Provisions

These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement.

15. Special Provisions for Specific Regions

15.1 UK and EEA Users

You have certain consumer rights and the right to withdraw within 14 days of installation.

15.2 California Users
